BLADEN — The chilly temperatures couldn't dampen the spirits of the No. 3-seeded Silver Lake football team or its fans on Friday when the Mustangs defeated Arcadia 38-21 in the first round of the six-man state playoffs.
Silver Lake played tough defense throughout the game, and its explosive first half carried the Mustangs to victory.
"I think we came out really well in the first half. We played a really solid first half. The defense played probably the best it's played all year long, which you can credit to defensive coach Terry Bauer," said Silver Lake head coach Duane Arntt.
