Bronco women win in double overtime

Hastings College players celebrates their overtime win over
Concordia Wednesday at Lloyd Wilson Field.

The Hastings College women's soccer team had its chances to end the game in regulation and in the first overtime.

But, in the end, it was a shot that wasn't expected to go in that saved the day for the Broncos.

Hastings College survived a double overtime scare against Concordia, winning 1-0. Senior Amanda Olson scored the game-winning goal in the 101st minute.

"I have to admit, I didn't really plan that one. Halee Wright threw it in, and I just took a touch down the line," Olson said. "I just pretty much kicked it right toward the goal hoping something would happen."
