Are you fed up with robocalls and other unwanted telephone solicitations? I certainly am!
So I was pleased to read in the May 2019 Consumer Reports Magazine that it is working to improve the situation.
Consumer Reports is collecting names for a petition to submit to the FCC demanding action on the part of the federal government.
The petition calls for the FCC to better shield consumers from intrusive robocalls, including mandatory caller ID verification technology. It also asks the FCC to make sure that the technology is as effective as possible in stopping these calls and that it is free to consumers.
There is also an online petition. You will need to go to robocallspetition.cr.org or you can tweet @FCC using the hashtag #EndRobocalls.
I hope that many of you will join me in helping Consumer Reports try to stem the overwhelming tide of annoying calls and pass this information along to others. The petition must be signed by May 31, 2019.
