This is in response to the letter “Easter now messy” (Voice of the People, May 6).
If Easter is now messy for some, I feel for you … but it doesn’t have to be messy if you don’t want it to be.
I personally enjoy the dyed eggs and rabbits, but certainly don’t worship some fertility god.
As for Christians making this celebration grotesque, nothing could be further from the truth.
We do not celebrate the fact that Jesus willingly died a horrible, grotesque death to pay for the sins of all mankind (including Mr. Terway’s) so we didn’t have to, but we are super thankful that he did.
What we celebrate is that he didn’t stay dead very long, but rose on the third day like he said he would!
