Blue Hill grad takes stage with Chicago

Deanna Karmazin, who grew up in Chicago and now lives in
Lincoln, appeared on stage with Chicago during a concert
Saturday at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island.
A week ago tonight, Deanna Lienemann Karmazin realized a lifelong dream and checked off one of the items on her bucket list:

Meeting Chicago, the legendary "rock-'n'-roll band with horns" whose music was so popular and pervasive when she was growing up in the 1970s and 1980s.

But Karmazin, whose hometown is Blue Hill, did much more than meet the band on Aug. 31.

She appeared with Chicago on stage. And sang.

As Karmazin, who now lives in Lincoln, was approaching her 40th birthday, her parents, Duane "Dewey" and Connie Lienemann of Blue Hill, thought it might be a good idea for her to have the opportunity to perform on stage, too.
