Faces of Business: Gail Jones

Gail Jones is active in youth sports in the Hastings
community. Jones is chairman of the Hastings Midget
Football program and is an administrator in the Hastings
American Legion baseball league.
As a young athlete growing up in Hastings, Gail Jones wasn't always the best player.

At 5 feet, 3 inches tall and 125 pounds, the scrawny kid did what he could on the baseball field and tried every day to please the coaches who led him along the way.

"My late father reminded me many, many times that I needed to pay them back," Jones said of his coaches. "His thought process was always you didn't always have to seek them out and thank them. You need to show them that you saw the way they were teaching and you want to do the same thing. That's kind of been a thing I've tried to do."
