Country MusicFest  at Adams County Fairgrounds.
Songs and stories embracing cowboys, gospel, country and western music are once again an integral part of the fabric of this year's Miles of Memories Country MusicFest this weekend at Adams County Fairgrounds.

Hosted by Tex and Mary Schutz, the annual festival, which started Thursday and runs through today, brings together traditional country and western singers from several states for a three-day hoedown that includes storytelling, traditional country concerts, theme shows, learning sessions, barn dances and the opportunity for fellowship with both artists and others in attendance.

Carolyn Esmon of Oklahoma City was among the women who teamed up for a traditional country theme show Friday morning. A newcomer to the festival, she said she felt right at home performing "Kentucky Girl" by Loretta Lynn, "Momma He's Crazy Over Me" by Wynonna Judd and "A Cowboy Lovin' Night" by Tanya Tucker.

"It's like a big family reunion," she said. "People come year after year, I understand. Hope to come back."
