School board votes 4-2 for budget

It was a divided vote for the Adams Central Board of Education Monday when it came to the issue of how much money to collect for special building projects.

The vote was 4-2 to approve both the 2013-14 budget and the levy rate during Monday's meeting.

The dissenting votes came from board members Ryan Weeks and Chad Trausch who had concerns with the need to collect an additional $600,000 in the Special Building Fund for the upcoming year.

In the end, the board voted 4-2 in favor of collecting $600,000 annually in the Special Building Fund setting a levy rate of 4.75 cents in that fund for a total levy rate of 73 cents.
