Uden. The band, who had not played together for a year, reunited
for an evening at the request of Schirmer, a Kensington resident.
After a couple health setbacks broke up Grandmas on the Go, there was nothing Kensington resident Betty Schirmer wanted more than to get the band back together.
Schirmer was able to check that off her bucket list, as the band reunited for a performance Thursday evening at The Kensington’s sixth-floor ballroom.
After they formed in 2006, members of Grandmas on the Go played senior centers and nursing homes all over the region — from Hays Springs to York to St. Paul to Mankato, Kan.
“It’s something I love to do,” the 85-year-old Schirmer said. “We all love to do it.”
