Tom Osborne returned to his alma mater Friday to deliver the distinguished alumni address at the inauguration of the 15th president of Hastings College Dennis Trotter.
Osborne, the former national championship football coach for the University of Nebraska and now the athletic director there, started his speech with words every college student wants to hear.
"I know that your main fear is that this is going to be a long speech," Osborne said. "And it's not going to be one."
With humbleness and a light sense of humor, Osborne shared the story of his family's long and deep ties with Hastings College.
