Trotter inaugurated at HC

More than 500 Hastings College faculty, staff, students and alumni gathered Friday afternoon to inaugurate the college's 15th president.
"Dennis is someone we all knew would preside over a great liberal arts college," said William Robinson, president emeritus of Whitworth University where Dennis Trotter graduated in 1983. "I know there are exciting prosperous days ahead for Hastings College in this time under his gifted leadership."
Trotter took office at Hastings College 15 months ago and has been in the transitionary period of his presidency, creating his presidential cabinet, connecting with students and staff and becoming a member of the Hastings College community.
Hundreds sat in chairs on the lawn under the bright sun Friday afternoon for Trotter's inauguration, which is just one of many activities during the college's Celebration Weekend, which also includes the celebration of the college's 130th year and homecoming weekend.
