United Way kicks off campaign

The United Way of South Central Nebraska wants area residents to release their inner heroes and benefit the community through giving.
The United Way played host to the kickoff for its annual fundraising campaign with an open house Friday at the organization's new home, the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce Development Center at 301 S. Burlington Ave., where it moved Sept. 1.
This year's campaign theme is "Release Your Inner Hero."
"When we put together the theme of releasing your inner hero, we really wanted to say thank you to all those people who are heroes in our community and then hopefully get some more people to come out and share what they do and how they make a difference in our community," executive director Tabitha Fox said.
