Proud HC alums return for special homecoming weekend
Hastings College alums from all walks of life returned to their alma mater to celebrate a weekend of remembering that included the installation of 15th president Dennis Trotter, the Melody Round-Up parade and homecoming festivities.
Former Bronco players Chase Langenberg and Indiana Jones, both 22, were among the crowd that watched the Bronco football team defeat Concordia 34-26 in its homecoming game Saturday evening at Lloyd Wilson Field. For them, the game was a chance to get together with former teammates and classmates to support the Bronco football program.
Langenberg, a Norfolk native, will graduate this year with a degree in recreation management. He said it felt strange to watch the game from the stands instead of the sidelines as a player.
“It’s a great experience,” he said. “Now I know what the fans feel like. It’s a great atmosphere.”
