Supervisors undecided on truck route

The Adams County Board of Supervisors still has their dice in hand as they consider whether to approve an anticipated U.S. Highway 281 alternative route in North Hastings for $3 million.

"This is a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice," Supervisor Mike Weeks said Tuesday, when the board conducted a public hearing on the proposed route that would pave 42nd Street between Highway 281 and Showboat Boulevard and then one mile south between 42nd and 26th streets.

The new roadway would connect North Highway 281 to Showboat, creating an alternative route for car and truck traffic headed to east and south Hastings.
