10 properties on display for first art tour

Although it is a permanent fixture, this fence, created by
Heartwell artist Sally Jurgensmier, at the home of Todd and
Cody Brown at 223 E. Second St., is part of the Hastings
Home Made Art Tour. The art is on display at 10 addresses
until Sept. 26.

Ten properties have been turned into stops for the inaugural Hastings Home Made Art Tour that runs through Sept. 26.

The tour, sponsored by the Hastings Community Arts Council, began Thursday and is modeled after a similar show held in Charlotte, N.C. The council asked participants to display their own original cool, strange, classic, large, small and colorful works of art on their property during the week-long showcase event.

Residents applied online to be included in the tour.
