Personal pain Hastings woman's inspiration

Betsy Wynn stands in her Hastings home by signs made for
various benefits she has helped organize.

As someone who has more than her share of hard knocks, Betsy Wynn could either let life drag her down or she could do something to help others.

That is the life philosophy for Wynn, 28, and the reason why she has helped plan several benefits during the four years she has lived in Hastings.

"Everything you've been through in life you can choose to let it kill you or use it for the greater good," she said. "Having lost a child and been through tragedies and five miscarriages I can relate to a lot of people."

Among those benefits is the inaugural Josh Wynn Memorial Ride poker run and bike show Saturday with activities beginning 11 a.m., at Miscues pool hall, 316 S. Elm Ave.
