Tesmer captures 300th win in STC rout
UTICA — Carl Tesmer has reached another milestone.
The veteran St. Cecilia coach picked up his 300th career win, 193 of which have come at STC, in the Bluehawks' 48-6 season-opening win Friday night at Centennial.
After the game, Tesmer downplayed the significance of win No. 300 — initially saying it meant "nothing."
"It's a great feeling, don't get me wrong," said Tesmer, who has a career record of 300-76-2 in 37 years of coaching. "But it's still all about the players. The season isn't about 300. It's about the kids. ...
"It was a great start for us. We want to build on it."
