AC girls win inaugural home invite

Adams Central's Brielle DeBusk approaches the finish line to
finish third in the Adams Central Invite with a time of
16:45.47 Tuesday at Elks Country Club.
The Adams Central girls cross country team entered the season with high hopes and expectations, and, so far, the team is living up to them.

The Patriots took home the team title in the first-ever Adams Central invite Tuesday at the Elks Country Club. AC scored 30 points as a team and had three runners in the top 10. They also won the Gibbon invite to open the season.

AC head coach Toni Fowler said the order in which her runners finish is rarely the same. One of her girls may be in a top spot at one meet, then place lower the next.

“If we have one where they’re not feeling good or whatever, we have the depth that someone will always step up,” Fowler said. “That’s what excited me about this meet, is that our depth really showed. I really think any given meet, if someone doesn’t have a strong meet, our depth is going to help us out tremendously.”
