BDS stuns Giltner

GILTNER — Last season, Bruning-Davenport/Shickley suffered its only loss of the regular season to Giltner in a 46-6 rout.

The Eagles kept that chip on their shoulder all year, and on Friday, they got their revenge.
BDS upset Class D-2 No. 1 Giltner 20-16 to give the Hornets their first loss since Howells knocked them out of the 2011 state playoffs.

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley held Giltner scoreless in the final three quarters of the game.

"There were so many chances for us to just fall to pieces, and we didn't. Right off the bat, it looked like it was going to be last year again," said BDS head coach Mark Rotter. "(Our chemistry) and leadership has been unbelievably strong since the first day of practice, and it was again tonight."
