St. Cecilia breezed through its first game of the season with a 60-10 victory over Centennial at Duncan Field on Friday.

"For a first game I just thrilled about our performance," said St. Cecilia's head coach Carl Tesmer. "We played with a lot of emotion, heart and chemistry."

Led by senior running backs Patrick Hermann and Avery Driscoll, the Bluehawks amassed a total of 291 yards on the ground. Hermann led the team with 123 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Driscoll led the team in total offense with nearly 170 yards and two touchdowns.

"They stacked us so wide off-tackle that we were able to run inside," Tesmer said. "They weren't going to let us run much option or many counter sweeps, but we did have some nice sweeps and some nice blast plays off-tackle."
