St. Cecilia sweeps Adams Central

St. Cecilia's Morgan Nikkila hits past Adams Central's Hannah
Fleischer Tuesday night at Adams Central. St. Cecilia won in
three sets.
An intense rivalry matchup requires both teams to be able to handle all the noisy distractions and stay focused.

The Adams Central volleyball team couldn't handle all of it against cross-town rival St. Cecilia Tuesday night at Patriot gym.

The Patriots committed 34 unforced errors in helping the Class C-2 No. 2 Hawkettes earn a 25-10, 25-17, 25-16 sweep.

The Patriots haven't won a set against STC since early in the 2009 season.

"What we needed tonight was a measuring stick of where we're at," said Adams Central head coach Twila Knehans, whose team dropped to 2-1 on the season. "St. Cecilia gave us that. They showed us our weaknesses. We'll just have to come out stronger and just get better."
