AC vs. HHS again: This time Patriots win

When the Adams Central and Hastings High softball teams played over the weekend, it was all Hastings.

It was a different story Thursday evening at the Smith Softball Complex.

After falling to the Tigers 13-3 Saturday at the HHS quadrangular in a game that went only four innings, Adams Central avenged the loss with a 6-2 win.

“It was a sweet win, there was no doubt about it,” said AC coach Denise Schuck, whose Patriots improved to 11-9 and won their second straight after enduring a five-game losing streak. “We need games like this that are going to bring our spirit up and give us momentum. It’s a totally different atmosphere when we play Hastings High in a night game. It’s just totally different than playing in the day. ...

“They’re a good team. It was a good win for us.”
