FAIRBURY — Class C-1 No. 3 Adams Central improved to 3-0 with a 35-0 win at Fairbury on Friday.
As was the case in the Patriots' first two games, a 17-0 win over Cozad and a 21-7 victory over Wilber-Clatonia, defense was the name of the game for Adams Central.
The Patriots held Fairbury (1-2) without a first down or any positive yardage until the final minute of the game.
"We owned the line of scrimmage," AC coach Bill Carlin said on the postgame KHAS radio show. "They couldn't run the ball very well and we got a lot of pressure on the quarterback, which gave them very little opportunity to throw.
"The game is won up front. I know those people in the back get a lot of credit, but up front we were dominating them on both sides of the ball."
