Hawkettes come back for five-set win

St. Cecilia's Shandra Farmer celebrates a point against Blue
Hill in the fifth set Tuesday night at Chapman Gymnasium.

Behind a pair of 5-1 runs, Blue Hill earned a dominating 25-14 game one victory Tuesday over district rival St. Cecilia at Chapman gymnasium.

The Class C-2 No. 1 Hawkettes returned to their huddle, and they all knew that they could do better than that.

"Through that first game, we weren't doing what we do best," said St. Cecilia senior Morgan Nikkila. "We got through that set and said, 'It's over. Calm down.'"

Despite a strong effort from the Class C-2 No. 7 Bobcats, St. Cecilia managed to win three of the next four sets to earn a hard-fought 14-25, 25-14, 16-25, 25-19, 15-8 win.
