No. 1 ranking no big deal to Giltner coach
Earlier this week, the Giltner Hornets jumped to No. 1 in Class D-2 rankings by both the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star.
That’s news to head coach Kurt Polt.
“It won’t affect my focus, because this is the first time hearing about it,” he said Wednesday. “I don’t know if people believe me when I tell them that I don’t look at rankings. They have absolutely no importance anymore. ... I think they are just more for the fans.
