Defense leads Patriots in win

Gibbon's Ryan Milks begins to pull down Adams Central's
Derek Lonowski in the third quarter in Hastings Friday
night.

There are some football fans out there that only care about offense. To them, the only good football game is a barn burner with more than 1,000 yards of total offense and a triple digit point total.

Even those fans would have liked watching the Adams Central defense on Friday.
The Patriots scored 14 points on defense en route to a 28-12 victory over Gibbon.

"(The defensive touchdowns) changed the game. We got the first two touchdowns and then we kind of got complacent," said Adams Central's Buzz Niederklein. "They scored that one before halftime, but those two defensive touchdowns were huge because they kind of closed the door and ended the game."
