Hawkettes not sharp but win own invite
The St. Cecilia volleyball team didn’t play its best Thursday in the St. Cecilia invite. But it did just enough to emerge as champion.
After dropping the first set, the Hawkettes had to come back to defeat Heartland 23-25, 25-23, 25-17 for the championship.
“We didn't play our best tonight, but the good thing is that we found a way to win both matches,” VanCura said. “We made too many errors, 30 tonight. That's uncharacteristic of us.”
