The Adams Central softball team had a strong showing at its own invite Saturday.
After breezing through its first two opponents, the Patriots squared off against Class C No. 4 Wayne for the championship, but fell short of the title losing 4-3.
“Obviously, a victory would have been better, but going 2-1 on your home field in your home invite, we’ll take it,” said Adams Central head coach Chelsey Jacobitz. “It’s a hard one to swallow, losing in the championship. Like I said, we’ll take the two wins any day.”
Adams Central defeated Milford 9-1 and Wilber-Clatonia 11-3 to get into the championship game.
