BLAIR — The Hastings and Adams Central wrestling teams both had successful first days of the Class B, District 2 tournament on Friday. Tiger wrestlers in all 14 weight classes are still in the tournament while the Patriots have six wrestlers competing in the semifinals, which begin Saturday.

Eleven of the Hastings wrestlers advanced to the semifinal round. At 106 pounds, Markus Miller pinned his opponent in the quarters to move on. Bryce Brown (132), Jett Samuelson (145), Izaak Husnley (160), Damen Pape (182), Evan Morara (195), and Josh Callejas (285) all earned pins in the quarterfinals to advance to Saturday's semifinals.

Hunter Anderson (113), Landon Weidner (126), Austin Yohe (138), and Mason Brumbaugh (152) all also won their quarterfinals matches.

For Adams Central, Tristen Obermiller (106), Braiden Kort (113), Devon Ackles (120), Cameron Kort (138), Jackson Johnson (152), and Oaklyn Smith (170) all advanced to the semifinals.


HERSHEY — Minden sent nine wrestlers to the semifinals in the B-4 district tournament. Kole Neilsen (106), Jayson Simpson (113), Evan Smith (120), Hunter Heath (126), Jon Brais (132), Jasper Birkestrand (138), Gage Fries (145), Alex Banuelos (152), and Eduardo Gonzalez (160) all won the quarterfinals. All 12 Whippets wrestlers are still active in the tourney.


MALCOLM — Fillmore Central advanced six wrestlers into the semifinals of the C-1 district tournament on Friday. Alex Schademann (113), Aidan Trowbridge (126), Conner Nun (145), Gavin Hinrichs (160), Thomas Barnes (182), and Connor Asche (285) all won their quarterfinals matches to move on to Saturday's semis.


ST. PAUL — Doniphan-Trumbull advanced three wrestlers into the semifinals of C-2 district tournament on Friday. Drake Belville (126), Taylor Lautenschlager (160), and Colton Horne (182) moved on past the quarterfinals. The Cardinals have six wrestlers still competing in the tourney.

South Central didn't have anyone advance to the semis, but the Red Raiders do still have two of their three wrestlers still competing in John Brodrick (120) and Tobey Turman (126). 


OAKLAND — Sutton still has five wrestlers competing in the C-3 district tournament after Friday's action. Two Mustangs — Joseph Hinrichs (152) and Jarvis Smith (285) — won their semifinals matchup and advanced to Saturday's semifinals.


PLAINVIEW — Four Thayer Central wrestlers advanced from Friday's action in the D-1 district tournament and into Saturday's semifinals. Ashton Sinn (106), Brenner McLaughlin (126), Dominic Stewart (145), and Jackson Feulner (160) all advanced to the semifinals. The Titans still have 11 wrestlers competing on Saturday.


OXFORD — Seven Tribland teams are competing in the D-3 district tournament on Southern Valley.

Franklin has two wrestlers competing in the semifinals, in Joseph Kahrs (182) and Tavin Uden (285). 

Oscar Medina (120) is Harvard's only competitor remaining, as he advanced into the semifinals. 

St. Cecilia's Manny Consbruck (120) won a match but was eliminated, along with teammate Aaron Beck (138).

All three Kenesaw wrestlers — Nickolas Kuehn (120), Trevor Kuehn (132), Sean Duffy (170) — advanced to the semifinals. 

Red Cloud/Blue Hill has three wrestlers remaining in the tournament, all competing in the consolation rounds. Caden Trew (120), Brooks Armstrong (145), and Brody Fischer (220) will all compete Saturday.

Payton Christiancy (285) is Superior's only wrestler that advanced to the semifinals. Three of the Wildcats' five wrestlers are still competing. 

Wilcox-Hildreth had just one wrestler move on to the semifinals, and that was 145-pounder Lane Lieb. Trevor Young (182) is the only other Falcon lined up to wrestle Saturday.
