Defining violence
Violence has taken center stage in America for quite some time. The violent murders of the innocent children in Connecticut have left many weeping hearts. President Obama made a profound statement this week in response to gun violence and his plan for gun control: “This is our first task as a society, keeping our children safe.”
Obama said, “This is how we will be judged.” Has our President forgotten that we have not kept our children safe for the past 40 years with the passage of Roe vs. Wade and the legalization of violent killing of innocent children through abortion? In the past 40 years, 55.5 million babies have been murdered not by guns, but by the violent act of abortion.
Yes, we will be judged. We, the American people, are responsible for the violent slaughter of innocent children who were given no choice to live. We are responsible to the children in the womb who cannot speak for themselves. We must pray for a change of heart and all violent deaths to end.
Mr. President, gun control would not have saved the 55.5 million babies violently lost. We need to keep all our children safe, born and unborn.
