Story brings back memories

My daughter Sheri Arneson and her family live in Hastings. She showed me the article about the brick from Guide Rock school (Feb. 16, Hastings Tribune). My grandfather, Emil Polenske, was one of the Polenske brothers who owned the brickyard. I visited the brickyard as a very young girl. My grandfather passed away when I was only 5 years old.

Thank you for a very interesting article. It brought back many pleasant memories for me.
My granddaughter, Elisabeth Arneson, has also written articles for the Tribune. Small world, isn’t it?
