MITCHELL, S.D. — The Hastings College football team dropped its season finale against Dakota Wesleyan 30-7.
The Tigers jumped out to a 14-0 lead after one quarter, and added another score off of a blocked punt in the second for a 20-0 halftime lead. DWU got scores from Luke Loudenberg and Zachary Lester in the first quarter on rushes of 1 and 12 yards, respectively. Preston Emerson blocked and returned the punt. Loudenberg scored for the second time to open the second half on a 39 yard screen pass, and the Tigers added a field goal by Tate Gale in the fourth.
Hastings College was scoreless until the fourth quarter when Isaiah Jackson found Keiotey Stenhouse for a 38-yard touchdown. Jackson completed 15 of 33 passes for 187 yards. Brett Simonsen rushed for 49 yards while Jess Ulrich ran for 47.
Hastings finishes the year 2-9 overall and 2-7 in the GPAC.
YANKTON, S.D. — The Bronco men snapped its three-game winning streak in a 107-105 loss to Mount Marty Saturday on the road.
Bart Hiscock led the Broncos with 26 points on 10-of-22 shooting. He also grabbed 12 rebounds. Zach Kitten scored 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting and had seven rebounds. Shane Chamberlain added 15 points, Evan Tricker and Logan Cale finished with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
The Broncos head to Sioux City, Iowa, next Saturday to face No. 4 Morningside.
YANKTON, S.D. — The 16th-ranked Bronco women picked up a 65-49 conference win Saturday on the road at Mount Marty.
Shandra Farmer led the Broncos with 17 points with a pair of 3-pointers. Taylor Beacom scored 13 points. Emma Grenfell recorded six rebounds and five steals. No other information was available.
HC has a date with No. 23 Morningside next Saturday.
